Happy Friggin' New Years!

I got you some sex!

With Frigg.

Since I know most of you want that.

Anyways I was hoping to have this update out BEFORE today, but clearly that failed.  To make up for that I filled in one of the "filler" Frigg scenes, so, if you're the more dominant of the pairing, you'll have a little excitement waiting for you (though note that I found, play testing that route, it's actually pretty specific to reach.  Still, if you manage it, PRIZES.  And by prizes I mean getting to use Frigg for pleasure).

Why the dominant one?  Well, because, in one of the other two new random events, you can end up in a decidedly not-at-all dominant situation with Frigg, and I figured I'd cater to both ends of the spectrum at once (note you won't be able to get that scene if you haven't had sex with Frigg yet).

More details and a question below:

So, anyways, new stuff any changes more precisely:

2 new random encounters, one short, the other one short unless you have Frigg along.

1 of the Frigg filler scenes filled in.

The pervasive "Event repeats" bug squashed for good (I'm pretty sure.  Turns out it was caused by me switching how a variable was increased to measure how far along the event chain you were, and so that inconsistency was causing some events to repeat.  And then, when I first fixed it, it actually caused the game to skip one of the events entirely, took me a while to figure THAT one out).

All routes involving Frigg will give you her name at least once by the time you get to the maid manor.  (In some cases twice.  The night before got a bit hazy after a certain amount of exertion)

Random events that you can get with Frigg along acknowledges Frigg being present.  Except the Farm, once more events are implemented that'll probably become exclusive to not having Frigg (though there may be an entirely different variant involving her being along later, it'll be something I'll have to write start to finish as there's just not much content I can overlap there).

Annnnd finally, since this is almost all about Frigg, there's a little question I'd like to ask anyone who cares:

I've seen commented around that some people would like to be able to romance or form a deeper bond or what have you with Frigg, and, to be totally honest, as originally conceptualized, that's not going to get very far.  Like, befriend?  Probably, much beyond that?  Ehhhh, "moderately preferred sexual partner," ain't no man tying that girl down.

Howweeevverrrrr I was considering putting in a small chance (checked at the beginning of the game) that Frigg was a slightly different character, giving a possible different result of those pursuits further down the line.  One of my friends observed to me, though, that hiding something like that behind a secret % check would be super frustrating if you were trying to intentionally see that content.  While I was mostly thinking of it as something that would happen organically in the narrative...  They're entirely right, people who wanted to specifically see that content WOULD find that pretty frustrating.

Sooo, got 3 options for you people:

1) Keep the original RNG plan.  The content will be in there, but it'll be all down to luck who sees which version.

2) Attach secret flags to some decisions that will make it so if a certain number of them are made, it swaps which Frigg you're dealing with.  This, obviously, will take some serious hunting through to do, but once people figure it out, you'll be able to scope it out when you want to, and people just playing the game normally may still stumble upon it.

Of course, my friend noted that that method kind of sucks too, so the final option is...

3)  Frigg will just be Frigg in every playthrough, and whatever connection you can get with her is just what you can manage with her base, rather self centered hedonistic personality.  This is obviously less work for me, and spares people from trying to mine for the content, since, well, it's not there.  But, you know, for everyone who was hoping to make a probable succubus cultist their ONE TRUE LOVE...  Well probably SOL.  Anyways, post here, on any of the forums, etc. etc.

The Update Fairy

Has come early.  Due to me still leaving a bug in the last version, you get an update, right about...  Now, but see, there's this funny thing...

It just so happens that I managed to get the status screen done last night.  Since I had it done so fast, I was going to put some extra content in, probably minor random events or something, before releasing it since I suddenly had everything I wanted for the update done early, buuuutt, well since I have to roll this out anyways, ENJOY YOUR STAT SCREEN.

As a heads up, it does track your progress through the prologue, for the most part, so you won't be able to see any of the stats that don't really apply to you at that point, but you might find a short sentence or two mentioning other things.  One or two of the endings probably need their own custom status screen at some point, but that's pretty easter egg-y so I'm not too bothered by the lack at the moment.

Anywho, enjoy your last bug squashed, and your status screen early right about:

See, there's this... Thing.

And that thing is, last night, I said "Hey, I got the farm scene done, but the update isn't done."

And that was totally true.  It was totally true.  It's not anymore.  Not even a little.  Because I like you guys (and because I was pretty tired of going "Yep, here's a not-an-update, I've written Xty words and passages" every 2 or 3 days), I put in 6 hours today, and in the doing put a pretty nice 3,100 words into the game (well, and some coding.  Bloody coding).

Now what does that mean? It means I have an early Christmas present for those of you who celebrate that (er, and a Hanukkah gift for people who celebrate that?  I think it may even be the right time of year rather than early), or maybe just a generic winter celebration gift.  Whatever you like.

And that gift is:

THIS

Pleasures of the Knight 2.4 is ALIIIIIIVE, and actually pretty thoroughly playtested.  I may have missed some stuff, as while I thiiiink I hit every, or close to every, possible permutation, but there's a lot at this point so I might've missed something.  Still, you have THE FARM RANDOM ENCOUNTER, which is a giant block'o content, and a new dream, which I feel some of my...  Longer term readers might have a certain appreciation for.  Also, it contains what is now my personal favorite non sexual scene in it.

Current things of note for the new content: 1) Frigg doesn't lock out any of it, buuuut she also doesn't show up as visible in any of it either so sorry if that breaks immersion a bit.  In a while I'll be doing a "Frigg Update" to back add her scenes and her presence in some scenes.  Also 2) There are at least 2 possible routes that could prevent you from seeing the new dream.  If you get the red demon dream you absolutely cannot get the new dream, and there's a chance (though the pathing is VERY specific) that when you bring Frigg along you won't be able to get it (not due to anything to do with Frigg, just that you've met the conditions for the red demon dream, you just didn't get it because Frigg blocks auto-firing dreams, since she has her own set of auto-firing events).

Also, I've tossed in a few options in the "in progress" filler events to let you tweak your stats a bit to help you hit certain willpower w/e thresholds to get certain event variants.  And I also added a few more things to the end of game tracker and a few other, uh, "Quality of Life"? things.

Anyways, I think that's enough of my going on for now, but for those interested, the upcoming update should take nowhere NEAR as long, because it's just going to be me finally adding in the stats screen.  I may still take like a week or something while I figure the entire thing out, but, uh, that's still less than a month +.

So happy hunting, and I'll see you guys then!

Like a zombie hungry for SEEEEXXX... That doesn't make any sense.

I LIVE.  RUN COWARD.

*Ahem*

I have a nice heaping helping of good news - bad news.

Bad news: This isn't a Ghost Princess update.  Sorry.

Bad news Mk2: It may be quite a while before the next Ghost Princess update.  The reasons for that are kinda...  Extensive and sob story-ish so I'm not putting them up here on the main page, I'll toss 'em in a side tab or something if anyone cares.

Good news: This is a release post.

Bad news again: It's an extra special VERY ALPHA UPDATE.  I've done some preliminary checks to make sure things are obviously broken, but I could easily have missed something (and if something is...  Inobviously broken then...  That'll...  Be a shame.)

You can find the new game in that new tab you see up top.  No no, not the Tales of Woe one, that's a terrible name for a game (in this genre anyways).  It's the other new one.  Most people who liked Ghost Princess should easily enjoy the start of it, but I will admit, it's a bit...  Different thematically than a lot of transformation genre games.  Still should be a good time.  It's sitting pretty at like 15,000 words, with about, I dunno, 35 "size 11 Aerial" 11 x 8 1/2 pages of content.  Ish.  It goes through the end of the prologue, his the traaansformation, and there's one extra...  Bonus scene?  I dunno, I was going to do a bit more, but I figured prologue complete was decent for an alpha.

Hope you enjoy.

My Blog Is Open!

Since I now have something worth actually putting on it, I've assembled my little blog here as a centralized locale for people interested in whatever I'm up to (as I'm arrogant enough to assume that such exist!).  As such, for the moment, this is serving as the go to place for updates on my current Twine game project: Ghost Princess. It's about a living prince! (With apologies to Doug Walker).

It's just barely in it's alpha state now (with nothing more than the prologue to go through, though you can check your character's status when you finally get out into the world), but as I do little updates and bug/grammar fixes and so on, I'll update here, so if you're interested in the slightest, keep your eyes on this space.

Game is up on the Ghost Princess page!
